Here’s one for some older Cov heads… There was a lad who used to skate in Coventry called Adrian Barwell (AKA “French Ade” to some), and he was, without a doubt, one of the most naturally gifted and stylish skateboarders that this city ever saw. Anyway, he moved away a few years ago, and we’ve not seen an awful lot from the chap since. The above montage features some recent footage of the man himself a few of his friends killing it at various Barca spots - check it out!

My presence on the internet has been somewhat lacking this year, and no matter how many times I attempt to apologise for it, I may not always be stuck at a keyboard and posting about Coventry Skateboarding. Having said that, this is usually because I’m out actually skateboarding.
With that said, the above trailer is for the previously mentioned new Video Project that Terribleco is releasing alongside Cannonball Holocaust. We’ve got a lot of young rippers appearing in our newest full length film, but with our tenth anniversary fast approaching in 2013, a group of us who started this site and have been pretty much representing Terribleco since it’s early days are coming together to put out a four part web series for you all. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present “The Four Horsemen” (which, funnily enough, also ties into the rumoured apocalypse that 2012 is meant to bring). Happy last year on Earth!
Photo update number two from The Illsley. Lewis Evans dropping 360 degrees of kickflip down the stairset named after the fecal matter of flying rats.
Photo update number one from Braddersaurus Flex. Myers gets all gnarls and gothic with this Church-based Front board. The dude’s dropping more hammers than a handyman with Parkinson’s disease.
After my last post, I kind’ve went quiet again. Sorry about that - On the plus side I’ve actually been skateboarding and I’ve put together Terribleco’s January 2012 edit. Every year I do a webclip which mostly comprises of Offcuts for whatever video I’m working on, and the above video is this year’s contribution. The song is by a band called The Chimney Boys, if you like them I suggest you check out their MySpace page (and with that link I can hear a million teenagers asking “What the hell is MySpace?”).
Things have been pretty quiet around here recently - There’s no hidden reason for that, I’ve just been enjoying Christmas. Now that Christmas is done and the new year is here, it’s time to get back on with some good old Coventry skateboarding.
2012 is proving to be a good year for those of you who skateboard in Cov - we’ve got 2 full video releases to look forward to (our own Cannonball Holocaust, and Andy Scott’s new full length video for Ride), we’ll have Covpark Combat going down in the summer, and we’re hoping to get the summer road trip fully sorted this time (last year it kind of fizzled out and didn’t happen).
On top of all of this, Terribleco is working on yet ANOTHER video project. We’re fast approaching our TEN YEAR anniversary (yes, in 2003 Terribleco made their first video and I created our first website). As such, throughout this year we’re going to be doing a series of short video parts from 4 gentlemen who had a large hand in making Terribleco what it is. Cannonball Holocaust will showcase a few lads who are the future of Cov skateboarding, but we’re determined to show you that some of the chaps from Terribleco’s past can still kill it. More on this soon….
What else for 2012? Well, we’re still looking for feedback on that skatepark survey we put out just over a month ago. Without making outlandish claims, we’re getting a little tired of the situation with Covpark (the possibility of the extension not happening is ever growing) and Coventry needs a decent skatepark facility - we’re currently weighing up other solutions, although we all know that skatepark projects are difficult to get running.
With all of this stuff going on, it’d be a bit of a dick move from the powers that be if we all fell victim to the dreaded 2012 apocolypse!
